Three things every D2C team already lives with

A new WhatsApp number shouldn't take a three-day support ticket

The old way: fill a form, wait for a sales rep to email back, send business documents, answer one more request, wait some more. Three days later the number is finally registered — and the campaign you needed live last week has missed its window. Plenty of providers still onboard numbers this way in 2026, one ticket at a time.

You shouldn't need a developer to connect WhatsApp

Most WhatsApp API setups ask a business owner to generate an API key, paste a webhook URL, configure a system token, and wire up JSON no marketing lead should have to see. So the whole thing waits on an engineer who has other priorities, and a simple "connect our number" turns into a two-week ticket in the dev backlog.

Switching tools shouldn't mean losing your number or your chats

Your customers already have your WhatsApp number saved, and years of conversations live in the Business app on your team's phones. The fear that stops most businesses from upgrading to the API is simple: will I lose the number, the history, or the app I rely on every day? With most tools it's a one-way migration — so the upgrade never happens.

The four pieces

What you actually need to run WhatsApp marketing at scale

Connect in a few clicks, on Meta’s own screen

You click "Connect WhatsApp" once, and Meta's own consent window opens — the same official screen Meta shows for every approved provider. You review what's being requested, choose your WhatsApp Business Account and number, verify a code, and you're done. No forms emailed back and forth, no business documents to chase, no multi-day wait for someone to provision the number.

No API keys, no webhooks — we wire it up

The moment you connect, WhatsMark registers your number for messaging, sets up the webhook so incoming messages reach your inbox, and stores the secure connection to Meta — automatically. You never generate a token, paste a callback URL, or open a line of JSON. A marketing or ops lead can finish the whole thing without ever pulling in an engineer.

Keep your Business App, add the Cloud API

Already running your number on the WhatsApp Business app? With Coexistence you don't have to choose. Connect the same number to the Cloud API and keep using the app on your phones at the same time — it's not a one-way migration. Your recent chat history comes across during setup, and from then on messages sync both ways: what you send from the app shows up in the shared inbox, and replies from WhatsMark appear in the app.

Your number, your Meta account — leave anytime

You connect your own WhatsApp Business Account, so Meta bills the message fees straight to you and WhatsMark adds 0% on top. The number is yours, the account is yours, and you can disconnect cleanly whenever you like — WhatsMark unhooks from Meta and hands everything back, no hostage situation. Prefer to connect with your own Meta app credentials by hand? That manual path is there too, on every plan.

Scenario 01 / Founder self-onboarding (D2C e-commerce)

From "we need WhatsApp" to first message sent in one afternoon.

A D2C skincare founder decides on Tuesday morning her brand needs a WhatsApp number for next week's festive campaign. She signs up to WhatsMark, clicks "Connect WhatsApp", picks the Meta Business account she already uses for her Instagram shop, chooses her number, enters the code — and she's connected in a few minutes. She starts drafting the festive template the same afternoon. No onboarding call, no BSP rep, no engineer. When Meta approves her display name a day later, the campaign is ready to go.

  • Self-serve start to finish — no scheduled onboarding call, no sales rep
  • Reuses the Meta Business account she already verified for Instagram
  • Can reply to customers immediately; only marketing needs Meta’s display-name approval
  • No developer touched it — she connected the number herself

Scenario 02 / Keep the app (mid-market SaaS)

Add the Cloud API without leaving the Business App behind.

A 40-person SaaS company has run support on the WhatsApp Business app for two years. They want a shared team inbox and automation, but they can't move off the number their customers know. With Coexistence they don't have to: embedded signup connects the same number to the Cloud API while the Business app keeps working. Recent chat history comes across during setup, and after that everything syncs both ways — a reply typed on someone's phone shows up in the shared inbox, and a reply from the inbox shows up on the phone. No new SIM, no lost conversations, no cutover weekend.

  • Same number on the Business app and the Cloud API — both stay live
  • Recent chat history comes across during setup
  • Two-way sync — phone messages and inbox replies stay in step
  • History availability and throughput follow Meta’s coexistence limits, not ours

Scenario 03 / No developer required (services)

The marketing lead connected it — engineering never got a ticket.

A services business wants WhatsApp live before a weekend promo, but their one developer is heads-down on the product. In most tools that means a ticket: generate an API key, set up a webhook, configure a token. Here, the marketing lead does it herself — click Connect, approve on Meta's screen, pick the number, verify the code. WhatsMark handles the number registration, the webhook, and the connection in the background. She's live before lunch, and the developer never opened the ticket because there wasn't one.

  • No API key, no webhook URL, no token — none of it surfaces to the user
  • A non-technical team member can connect the number end to end
  • The plumbing is configured automatically the moment you connect
  • Engineering stays focused on the product, not on WhatsApp setup

FAQ

Common questions, honest answers

Don't see your question? Email me at mailto:[email protected] — I read and answer every one personally.

It's Meta's official way to connect a WhatsApp Business number to a tool like WhatsMark without leaving the dashboard. You click "Connect WhatsApp", Meta's own window opens, you approve the permissions and pick your account and number, verify a code, and you're connected. It replaces the old process — emailing documents to a provider and waiting three to seven days — with a few minutes of self-serve setup.

No — that's the whole point. WhatsMark registers your number, sets up the webhook that delivers incoming messages, and stores the secure connection to Meta automatically. You never generate an API key, paste a callback URL, or touch any JSON. A marketing or operations lead can complete the entire connection without involving engineering.

The connection itself takes minutes — a good chunk of that is just waiting for Meta's verification code. Once connected, you can reply to incoming conversations straight away. Sending marketing templates needs Meta to approve your display name first; that timing is entirely Meta's process, and we show you the status rather than hiding it behind a vague promise.

Yes — that's Coexistence. Your number keeps working on the WhatsApp Business app and gains Cloud API access at the same time, so it's not a one-way migration and you don't lose the app. Your recent chat history comes across during setup, and after that messages sync both ways between the app and the shared inbox. How far back history goes and how fast a coexistence number can send are set by Meta's limits, not ours.

You approve the exact permissions on Meta's own consent screen — manage your WhatsApp assets, send messages, register the number, and set up webhooks. WhatsMark can't request anything that isn't on that screen. You can disconnect at any time: WhatsMark unhooks the number from Meta and releases it cleanly, and your WhatsApp Business Account and number stay entirely yours. Nothing is held hostage.

Yes. The Free plan connects 2 accounts, Professional 10, and Reseller unlimited — and that pool is shared with Facebook Messenger accounts, since WhatsMark runs both in one inbox. Each account can also carry more than one phone number. If you outgrow your plan’s pool, higher tiers (or add-ons) raise it.

Yes. Alongside the one-click embedded signup, there’s a manual connection path on every plan for power users and agencies who already have their own Meta app: paste your WhatsApp Business Account ID, access token, and app details, and WhatsMark validates and connects it. Most businesses use embedded signup; the manual route is there when you want full control of the credentials.

You run each client as its own WhatsMark workspace, and each one connects its own number under its own Meta Business Account. To be straight about it: there's no agency dashboard that shows every client's onboarding in one rollup, and WhatsMark doesn't register numbers on your behalf as a middleman — each number stays under its own owner. What resellers do get is the option to connect the signup window to their own Meta app, so the consent screen clients see carries the reseller's app, and client workspaces inherit that automatically. Reseller pricing is on the /reseller page.

Older providers — especially several built in the pre-Cloud-API era — ran onboarding on the legacy on-premise WhatsApp API, where every new number genuinely needed manual provisioning and back-office ticketing. Their dashboards never adopted Meta's embedded signup, so they kept the slow manual workflow even after it became unnecessary. WhatsMark was built on embedded signup as the default path, so there's no manual back-office step to wait on.
