CLICK-TO-WHATSAPP ADS

Every ad click lands in WhatsApp — greet it instantly, close it in the inbox.

Click-to-WhatsApp ads drop your lead straight into a chat. WhatsMark makes sure that chat gets answered: a welcome bot greets them the moment they message, quick-reply buttons capture what they want, and the warm ones land in a shared live inbox for your team — WhatsApp and Messenger in one place. Reply on approved templates with catalogue, media, and buttons. You connect your own WhatsApp Business Account, so Meta bills the per-conversation fee straight to you and we add 0% on top.

Three things every D2C team already lives with

A slow first reply kills a paid lead — and closes the free window

Someone taps a Facebook or Instagram ad expecting a fast reply, lands in WhatsApp, and hits silence for six hours. They assume the brand is dead and never come back. Worse, Meta's free-conversation window on ads-driven chats stays open only while you reply promptly — a slow response wastes the ad spend and the window in one go. The lead was already lost in the first thirty seconds, long before anyone in the team saw it.

Paid WhatsApp leads are noisy — you pay for every tyre-kicker

A performant CTWA ad brings volume, but volume includes the just-browsing, the wrong-fit, and the accidental taps. If every one of those lands cold in an inbox for an agent to triage by hand, your team burns the day on leads that were never going to buy, and the ones with real intent wait behind them. You need the channel to sort itself before a human gets involved.

Per-conversation fees compound exactly when the channel works

A CTWA ad that performs can add thousands of marketing conversations in a week. Meta charges per conversation, and a typical BSP stacks 18–25% markup on top — so the better the ad performs, the more the markup hurts. The channel that should scale becomes the one you can't afford to scale.

The four pieces

What you actually need to run WhatsApp marketing at scale

A welcome bot greets the first message instantly

The moment a new lead sends their first message, a bot flow you design runs on its own — a greeting, quick-reply qualifying questions, a catalogue link, an agent handoff when asked. No six-hour silence, no "looks broken" gap. Because the reply is instant, you stay well inside Meta's 24-hour service rule that keeps the ads-driven free-conversation window open. The same flow works for every new inbound contact, however they found you.

Qualify with buttons, hand the warm ones to the right team

Quick-reply buttons capture budget, size, city, or intent before a human is involved — the bot sorts the serious from the casual. Route qualified leads to a named team inbox (Sales, Support, VIP), assign a conversation to one or more agents, and let the tyre-kickers get a polite holding reply that never reaches your closers. Your team spends its time on the people who actually raised their hand.

One live inbox for every ad conversation

Ad leads land in the same shared, real-time team inbox as the rest of your chats — WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger together, assignment and read status updating live for everyone with no refresh. Reply with Meta-approved templates, photos, documents, voice notes, and quick-reply buttons — the full WhatsApp-native sales motion, in a workspace the whole team shares.

0% markup on every CTWA conversation

You connect your own WhatsApp Business Account, so Meta charges the per-conversation marketing fee directly to your Meta account — WhatsMark never sits in the middle of that bill. Our pricing is a flat subscription. On a busy ad week that runs thousands of conversations, the gap versus a 20%-markup BSP is real money — often the difference that decides whether next month's CTWA budget gets approved.

Scenario 01 / Festive ad scaling (D2C apparel)

Scale a winning CTWA creative and answer every lead the second it lands.

A D2C apparel brand finds a CTWA creative that converts during the Diwali run and scales daily spend. Hundreds of leads pour into WhatsApp — and the welcome bot answers every single one instantly, capturing size and colour with quick-reply buttons before an agent is ever involved. Buy-intent leads route to the senior CX team inbox; browsers get a friendly catalogue link. Nothing sits cold, and because the first reply is immediate, the free-conversation window stays open across the surge.

  • Welcome bot auto-greets every new lead — no cold inbox, no lost first thirty seconds
  • Quick-reply buttons qualify size / colour / intent before an agent picks up
  • Buy-intent leads routed to a named team inbox; browsers get a self-serve reply
  • 0% markup on the per-conversation fee — the markup gap at ad volume pays for the platform many times over

Scenario 02 / Instagram lead replacement (real estate)

Replace the Instagram lead form with WhatsApp-first qualification

A Mumbai real-estate developer was running Instagram lead-form ads at ₹620 CPL, with most forms full of wrong-number leads. They switched the same creative to a CTWA ad. Now the first message lands in WhatsApp — a real, reachable number, because it is WhatsApp — the welcome bot asks budget range and possession horizon with buttons, and only qualified leads route to the sales team. Junk gets a polite holding reply and never touches a closer. Same CPL; qualified-cost-per-lead drops sharply because the channel filters itself.

  • Welcome bot qualifies budget, timeline, and city with quick-reply buttons before sales is involved
  • The phone number is real — it's WhatsApp, not a form field someone fat-fingered
  • Qualified leads assigned straight to the sales team inbox; browsers held politely
  • Every reply happens in the shared inbox, so any advisor can pick up the thread

Scenario 03 / Fast handoff (D2C beauty)

The bot qualifies, a human closes — in one shared inbox.

A beauty brand's CTWA ad promotes a serum bundle. The welcome bot greets the lead, asks skin type with buttons, and recommends the right variant — then offers a tap-to-buy link or a human skin expert. When the lead wants the expert, the conversation is assigned into the Skin-Advice team inbox where a specialist takes over with the full thread in front of them, replies with product photos and a catalogue, and closes. Bot and human share the same conversation; nothing is re-typed or lost in a handoff.

  • Bot-to-human handoff keeps the whole conversation in one thread
  • Team inboxes group specialists so the right person picks up
  • Reply with approved templates, product photos, catalogue, and buttons
  • Real-time inbox: assignment and read status update for the whole team, no refresh

FAQ

Common questions, honest answers

Don't see your question? Email me at mailto:[email protected] — I read and answer every one personally.

A Facebook or Instagram ad that opens a WhatsApp chat with your business when someone taps it, instead of opening a website or a lead form. Meta calls them "Ads that Click to WhatsApp" (CTWA). The user lands in WhatsApp with a pre-filled message, and the conversation starts when they send it. Meta funds the first 72 hours of that conversation as long as you reply within the 24-hour service window.

Yes — this is the core of what WhatsMark does for ad leads. The bot-flow builder can trigger on a contact's first inbound message and run the flow you've designed: greeting, quick-reply qualifying questions, a catalogue link, an agent handoff. Because the reply is instant, you stay inside Meta's 24-hour service rule, which keeps the ads-driven free-conversation window open. One note for accuracy: the flow greets every new inbound lead — it isn't specific to a particular ad or campaign, and it can't branch on which creative the lead came from.

Not in the app today — and we'd rather say that plainly than imply a feature that isn't there. When a lead arrives from a CTWA ad, Meta sends a referral payload with the first message, and WhatsMark does receive it. But we don't currently surface it as a contact field, a filter, an export column, or an attribution report — so per-ad attribution and ROAS reporting should be done in Meta Ads Manager for now. What WhatsMark guarantees is that the lead is answered instantly and handled properly in your team inbox. In-app ad attribution reporting is on the roadmap, not in the product at the moment.

No, not today. WhatsMark does not currently post conversion events to Meta's Conversions API (CAPI) or fire a Facebook Pixel from the WhatsApp conversation, so Meta optimises delivery on its own click and conversation-start signals rather than on a downstream 'qualified' or 'purchased' event from us. If closed-loop conversion optimization is essential to your media buying, plan around that limitation for now. It is a roadmap item, not a shipped capability.

Two layers. Layer one is Meta's ad cost — the bid you set in Ads Manager, charged as CPC or CPM like any Meta ad. Layer two is the per-conversation marketing fee Meta charges for the chat itself, billed against your own connected WhatsApp Business Account. WhatsMark adds 0% on layer two — you connect your own WABA, so that fee never passes through us to be marked up. CTWA conversations are also free for 72 hours after the first message as long as you reply within 24 hours, so a fast welcome bot keeps the cost lower than a cold, slow-answered chat.

Click-to-Messenger opens Facebook Messenger; CTWA opens WhatsApp. Different surface, different audience, different reply window. CTWA tends to win where your buyers already live on WhatsApp daily (India, LATAM, MEA, SEA) and where the sales motion benefits from voice notes, contact share, catalogue browsing, and document attachments. WhatsMark handles both — Messenger conversations land in the same shared inbox as WhatsApp — so you're not locked to one surface.

Yes — CTWA ads go through the same Meta ad-review process as any Facebook or Instagram ad. The pre-filled message text has to follow Meta's ad policies (no prohibited content, no misleading claims). Once your WhatsApp Business Account is connected to your Facebook Page or Business Manager, the destination is set; approval depends on the creative, not the brand size. WhatsMark doesn't add an extra review layer — the only gate is Meta's.

You can run each client as its own WhatsMark workspace, and the Reseller plan tier gives you the higher limits (unlimited numbers, staff, campaigns) to do that at scale. To be straight about it: a single master account that creates and manages isolated client sub-tenants, with per-client attribution and an agency rollup dashboard, is not built yet — that's on the B2B roadmap, not shipped today. For now, one workspace per client is the honest, working answer, and the founding Reseller pricing is on the /reseller page.
